Saturday 5th November 2005 Broxbourne Mens 3s v WGC 1s Result: Lost 3-6 Report by John Chapman

Having watched the 1st team throw away a 2 goal advantage the 3rds were inspired to give the opposition a 5-1 lead at half time. John Edwards returned to the line up and Mr Pledger replaced Shrek in goal. Shrek was clearly disappointed about being dropped to a position as forward in the 1's As to the match itself probably less said the better. It's no good complaining about a goal that shouldn't have been and a pretty good shout for a 2nd flick in the 2nd half. We just didn't compete and didn't get to grips with the better Welwyn player. Although we won the 2nd half 2-1, Welwyn were never really in danger of losing. Promotion still a possibility? Unlikely, mid table more certain as long as we get back to basics and maybe try to attend training occasionally? (TOM SAYS: Believe it when I see it!) For the record the Broxbourne goal scorers were: Chapman(PF), Cranfield and Huddlestone Final score 6-3 to Welwyn MOTM: Kevin House - absolute superstar... ...well no to be honest, he commented he hadn-t had a write up in the reports, so this is his reward!
