Saturday 29th October Broxbourne Ladies 5's vs Bishop's Stortford 5's Result: Broxbourne lost 1-3

Broxbourne Ladies 5s succumbed to another defeat this last Saturday losing 1 - 3 to Bishops' Stortford 5s but at least we scored a goal thanks to Becky Quiddinton superglueing herself to the goal post ready to chip the ball over the line. Never downhearted we always look at the positives from every game and the chilli and rice afterwards was enjoyed by all those who sampled the hospitality of Bishop's Stortford. Yeh as if it was their 5s team - it was more like a United Nations OAP representative team - but we showed them a thing or two. Fiona had a new stick for one and I'd flossed my gum shield. We have the makings of a great team and each week our youngsters show signs of improvement. We worked so hard this week it was difficult to distinguish the flushed faces from our pink shirts. This week we travel all the way to Hatfield - I'm hoping to win the toss again - undefeated this season in that respect - and play up hill first half. There is a distinct slope and I know that for sure when my glass eye fell out rolled down the pitch so fast I couldn't reach it till it nestled in the remains of discarded half eaten orange segment. I can't tell you about our tic-tacs for this week in case the website is viewed by the oppostion and in anycase we haven't got any. Actually we have - the plan is to go out and score more goals than our opposition. Just watch this space next week.
