Saturday 26th November Broxbourne Ladies 5's vs Aylesbury Result: Broxbourne lost 4-0

It was cold and wet and we were all miserable and that was before the game due to the fact that Trevor was going to be umpiring our game - I jest - he was actually very good and unbiased - which obviously didn't do us any favours as we lost 0 - 4. But at least I don't have to remember who scored the goals and worry about spelling their names correctly for the match report. We had plenty of chances and the scoreline flatters Aylesbury but luck went their way on the day. Amy (Greg Louganis) Spearpoint enjoyed herself and has worn away a patch of astro in front of each goal where she was throwing herself around saving us from an even more brutal savaging. We had loads of corners but just didn't manage to convert them on the day. A few shots whizzed past the posts and damn them, a few Aylesbury players got in the way of our other shots. We get loads of spectators at our games or was it that they were left over from previous games having been frozen to the spot. It was cold on pitch as well and I think the thermal underwear industry is going to get a boost as a result. I think there should be a move towards hot soup at half time - broccoli and stilton would be quite nice. We travel to Tring next week and let's hope we fare better - I'm thinking of prunes before the game to keep us going!
