Saturday 18th February Broxbourne Ladies 5's vs WGC 5's Result: Broxbourne won 2-1

Broxbourne Ladies 5s beat Welwyn Ladies 5s 2 - 1 although it wasn't really a 5s team but then neither was WGC's. The 5s took pity on a few players from the 4s as they haven't had a game since it was ok to eat bread and dripping. We let them play since there was danger of them seizing up and they are now too old for WD 40. I jest!!!!!!!! We were meant to have a rearranged league game and certain players had cut short their exotic holidays in far flung places such as Stevenage and Luton to turn out for the 5s. But rumours on the league circuit had led Enigma to believe that one of our umpires has taken to wearing a yellow jacket so bright that, the reflection given off has everyone looking slightly unwell and jaundiced. So Enigma were taking no chances. Jacky Joyce scored two cracking goals although the sound of the ball hitting the back board did her hangover headache no good whatsoever. We have a very important league game this week against Royston (aren't they all) and I have imposed a strict regime on all team members - I am exempt of course as my play can't get any worse. I'm hoping to report a win next week -we're in big trouble if we don't and when I say big I really mean big so big in fact that it could become a cliffhanging storyline in an episode of Eastenders.
