Saturday 17th December Broxbourne Ladies 5's vs Allenburys Result: Broxbourne won 3-0

We won!! What more needs to be said other than that we were brilliant, fab, fit, skillful and we played well also. Winning 3 - 0 meant keeping a clean sheet for the first time this season and no we didn't barricade the goals with sand bags. The fab 5s took the lead shortly before half time, with a determined Jackie Gates not happy to give up until she'd got the ball in the goal, after a fair amount of pressure on the opposition goal but at that stage the game could still have swung either way - don't you just love this clichéd match reporting? Not long after half time Yasmin Mackay neatly slotted another home to make the score 2 - 0. Then Jackie Gates had the audacity to score another with a volley shot on goal from the back of the D catching everyone off guard including some of her team mates to make the score 3 -0. You see we're not quite used to scoring let alone winning. The youngsters in our team are great and the oldies aren't so bad either. Oh yes we're on a roll now - bring em all on in the New Year - but oh so very gently please.
