Saturday 5th November 2005 Broxbourne Ladies 4's vs Welwyn 3's Result: Match drawn 1-1

A 1-1 scoreline in the circumstances was a great result. Jacky's now confirmed hamstring injury was a blow as we had no subs but you all continued to battle hard and looked good for the entire game. Jacky was certainly missed on the left side but Milly and Lauren sprang into action and dropped back, working hard and showing some pretty impressive passing work as did the others all the way through. Milly showed off her new stick well. Despite only having 10, I felt that we looked the stronger team and were much more controlled. Well done to Mel, taking on the role of sweeper and showing some good hitting strength and defence skills. Player of the match this week undoubtedly goes to Yasmin McKay for great marking and rather nifty tackling and passwork - feeding the ball well to the forwards. How come my tackles never look like that? Thanks for Kate Vickers stepping up for us again and doing some great saves in her 2nd game of the day against Welwyn. I am looking forward to hopefully returning to the pitch this week but considering retaining my plaster cast as a new shin pad! Likely to be a tough game against St Albans who I think are 2nd in the league. However, given the strength of play this week, we can take it to them. Hope you recover soon Jacky. Jacky has given me the Xmas night out info so please make sure I give you all a form this week. See you Saturday, Kareen
