Saturday 8th October Broxbourne Ladies 2's vs Leighton Buzzard 2's Result: Broxbourne won 2-1

Broxbourne 2nd XI were made to work hard for victory on Saturday as they edged out Leighton Buzzard in a 2-1 win to maintain their unbeaten start to the season Broxbourne were full of confidence going in to the match as previous weeks had proved fruitful in terms of goals, however they soon knew that they were in a match where scoring would prove a lot harder than in recent weeks. The Leighton Buzzard goalkeeper frustrated the Broxbourne forwards with a string of saves, however she was powerless to do anything about Broxbournes first goal as a determined Emma Grainger chased down a ball that was seemingly heading out, keeping it in play she dragged it back to Jenny Orbell who spotted Pippa Evans in space. Faced with an almost empty goal, Evans couldn't fail to score and Broxbourne took the lead. More opportunities followed, however again the defence and goalkeeper played well to deny Broxbourne. The hosts soon leveled the scores when a player was allowed to run through on goal, a deft flick at the near post brought them back into the game. Broxbourne restored their lead before the break at a short corner, two attempts on goal were saved, the ball then came out to Jenny Orbell who undercut the ball from the top of the D to edge Broxbourne ahead.
