Saturday 29th October Broxbourne Ladies 1's vs BBHC Result: Broxbourne lost 2-0

Following last week's emphatic victory, Broxbourne were in high spirits going into this game, despite a number of personnel missing through the half term break. They were soon brought back to earth as a well organised and energetic BBHC side pressured the Broxbourne defence from the whistle. Good tackling back from the midfield and strong defending soaked up the early pressure and allowed the forwards to counter the BBHC play. A succession of short corners were awarded to Broxbourne but time and again the BBHC defence cleared their lines to prevent Broxbourne from taking a narrow advantage into the half time break. Broxbourne started the second half as they had ended the first, forwards Pippa Evans and Amber Banbury piling on the pressure with some good running. Broxbourne were however soon to pay for their failure to score during this period as BBHCs short corners routines proved the difference between the two sides. With three corners awarded to them in the half, they converted two of them to take a 2-0 lead. Broxbourne kept up the pressure, hoping to get something out of this game, a good run from Sue House down the wing almost setting up Mel Evans for a goal, Evans just being beaten to the ball by the oncoming goalkeeper. A disappointing result from Broxbournes perspective, they will be hoping for an improvement this week when they entertain Sevenoaks at home.
