Saturday 2nd December Bromley & Beckenham vs Broxbourne Ladies 1's Result: Lost 3-1

Broxbourne had a disappointing follow on to last weeks victory with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Bromley and Beckenham. The badgers never really got into the game and struggle to keep any possession from the start. The first five minutes saw some promising play for the badgers with several attacks involving Pippa Evans and Katie Naylor up the right wing. However a break by the opposition saw them awarded a controversial short corner which they converted giving them a 1-0 lead. The badgers failed to show any determination o fight back and made things difficult for themselves by continually giving the ball away. It wasn't long before Bromley had extended their lead through a goal from open play leaving them 2-0 down at half time. After the half time break Bromley continued as they had in the first with another short corner awarded and converted to give the home team a 3-0 lead. The thought of losing 3-0 seemed to fire up the badgers they upped their game and put pressure back onto the Bromley defence. An attack down the left side of the pitch saw a fine ball from Gemma Smith to Helen Toon who in turn found Sue House at the top of the D. House unleashed a cat busting strike straight under the stranded Bromley goal keeper to bring the score to 3-1. Despite several more attacks from Broxbourne, including a number of beautiful bunted passes from Ashleigh Davis Broxbourne were unable to score again and left feeling a miserable as the Kent weather.
