Disciplinary Code of Conduct

It is a league requirement to keep a record of all yellow and red cards awarded. Broxbourne HC’s admin. committee has decided to also record green cards and to take the appropriate following action.

Monitoring Cards

•For each match, the team captain is to record all cards shown. Where no cards have been shown, a return of “no cards” should be submitted to the Discipline Officer.

Red Cards

•A player receiving a red card will receive a mandatory ban in accordance with the national scheme, as detailed in the East handbook.

•For offences in which physical violence is used to:

* an umpire; the player will receive a minimum 180-day ban

* a player or other person; the player will receive a minimum 60- day ban

•For offences in which physical violence is offered or threatened to:

* an umpire; the player will receive a minimum 90-day ban

* a player or other person; the player will receive a minimum 30- day ban

•For obtaining two yellow cards, leading to a red card, the player will receive a minimum 16-day ban

Yellow Cards

•A player receiving a yellow card will be warned by the club over possible future indiscretions.

•A player receiving a third yellow card will automatically be banned by the league from playing in the next league match.

•A player receiving a fifth or subsequent yellow card will automatically be banned by the league from the next two league matches.

Green Cards

•Receiving a green card will be recorded in the disciplinary book.

Appeals

•Red card appeals

*Members of the club have a right to appeal against any additional penalty imposed by the club. Because of the implications, any club member receiving a red card will be advised of his/her rights as detailed in the East rules.

*Any appeal must be made in writing to the Herts Disciplinary Administrator within 7 days of the original decision being made.

•Other card appeals

*Any appeal must be made in writing to the club chairman within 7 days of the original decision being made. The appeals panel will comprise the club chairman, ladies’ and men’s club captains, men’s or ladies’ secretary and an independent person. Its decision is final.
